On December 14th, 2024, Hopeland Community Initiative for Peace and Social Development (CIPSD), supported by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), conducted a sensitisation exercise in Akpap Okoyong, Odukpani LGA, Cross River State.

The exercise focused on raising awareness about the dangers of harmful cultural practices and their impact on peace and social development in the community. Participants, including youth, women, and community leaders, actively engaged in discussions and gained insights into embracing peaceful and inclusive practices.

HRH Obong Ita Okon, the Clan Head of Akamkpa Clan, commended the initiative and urged the community to support the ongoing efforts to create a more harmonious society. His leadership and endorsement added significant momentum to the campaign.

This sensitisation marks a vital step towards empowering residents of Akpap Okoyong with the knowledge and tools to foster a culture of peace and respect for human rights. CIPSD remains committed to sustaining these efforts in collaboration with community stakeholders and PIND.
