On December 21st, 2024, Hopeland Community Initiative for Peace and Social Development (CIPSD), with the support of the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), conducted a sensitization exercise in Nko Community, Yakurr LGA, Cross River State.
The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the impact of harmful cultural practices on community harmony and development. Through interactive sessions with residents, including youth, women, and community leaders, CIPSD emphasized the importance of fostering peace, inclusivity, and social progress.
A call for change in our communities.
Key discussions focused on identifying harmful cultural norms and equipping participants with practical knowledge to challenge these practices while promoting positive cultural values. The sensitization exercise also encouraged dialogue among community members, inspiring collective action to embrace peaceful coexistence.

This initiative reflects CIPSD’s dedication to building stronger, more resilient communities through education and advocacy. By increasing awareness, we are paving the way for sustainable peace and development in Nko Community and beyond.
